According to the results just published, the University of Debrecen is in the international elite of higher education institutions in three fields: life sciences and medicine (397), natural sciences (451-500) and arts and humanities (451-500).
In the field of life sciences and medicine, the education of doctors (251-300), biologists (401-450) and agronomists (201-250) were ranked among the best.
In relation to the success of the institute, László Csernoch, vice-rector for scientific affairs, highlighted the achievement of the faculty of arts and humanities (451-500), as in the last three years it was not on list. He also emphasised that life sciences and medicine got in the first 400 for the first time.
- International competition and ranking is important for the university, for in addition to providing feedback on the quality of the educational and scientific work carried out at the university, they promote us around the world. Maybe this is because currently over 5,000 students from 109 countries study at the university, said László Csernoch to unideb.hu.
The list is made based on four factors: scientific reputation, employers' opinion, the number of citations from scientific works connected to the university and h-index citations. Out of the 1,130 higher education institutes included in the QS world ranking, the University of Debrecen is among the best 2-300 universities.
